What I did .ᐟ
As part of TikTok's design challenge, I delved into the prompt to select a competitor and pinpoint blockages that could drive business growth. I accessed Instagram's key features to uncover opportunities for a more intuitive & innovative user flow.

How might werefine Instagram existing tools
to allow users more control in curating their social media experience to better align their needs?

Aiming to elevate user satisfaction, I conducted a detailed analysis of Instagram’s current user journey and identified areas where flows could be streamlined for greater efficiency and engagement. In doing so, reducing potential frustration while aligning improvements with overarching business objectives.

Close Friend List

Current User Journey
Identifying pain points
Users may face a sense of restriction when utilizing the tool due to the lack of customizability with close friend story viewers
Posting buttons may cause confusion. The functionality and difference between the three buttons may be lacking clarity
Enhance user retention & engagement for "Close friends" postings
Optimizing the user flow by minimizing the no. of buttons to post. To dive deeper and allow for more further curation & selectivity with story viewers ⟶ develop a tool to allow for different audiences for more diverse story postings.
Design Solution
Allowing users to have this heightened feeling of control and security can motivate users to post more on Instagram. Adopting a more streamlined approach by downsizing the posting buttons to might also limit areas of confusion.

These design explorations can then undergo user testing to validate the assumption if these iterations may result increasing rates of user retention and engagement.
